Celebrating the incredible quilt shops that bring creativity and connection to our communities, the 9th annual Local Quilt Shop Contest has come to a close.
We love running this contest and working to highlight the passion, talent, and hard work of local quilt shop owners and teams, while giving quilters everywhere a chance to show their support and appreciation.
Cheering on these shops is about more than just a contest. It’s about strengthening our quilting communities, sparking inspiration, and helping small businesses continue to flourish.
To make things even more exciting, the winning shops will receive fantastic prizes and cash awards totaling thousands of dollars!
Help us spread the word and celebrate the quilt shops we all love. Invite your friends, family, and fellow makers to join in recognizing the places that keep our quilting communities vibrant, welcoming, and full of creativity.

Contest Statistics
As we celebrate our ninth year of the Local Quilt Shop Contest, we’re thrilled to see the excitement and engagement keep growing!
This year brings even more energy, with new shops joining the contest and votes coming in from quilters far and wide. The support is spreading like a burst of confetti, making the competition lively, inclusive, and fair for everyone.
Our goal remains the same — to celebrate every quilt shop, whether it’s a charming neighborhood gem or a bustling online hub. No matter the size, we want all quilt shops to be part of the fun and share in the joy of the quilting community!

SEW Many Votes
This year saw a decrease in total vote counts, but still a significant number of enthused stores and customers.
The most beautiful thing in the contest is reading all the positive comments from voters, whether the store received one vote or a thousand.
A huge thank you to everyone who voted, shared the contest with friends, and — most importantly — showed love for their local quilt shops!
SEW Many Stores
The contest this year leveled out, with 2,297 stores receiving votes across 13 countries.
Each vote adds another dot to our global quilt shop map, helping quilters, sewists, and creative travelers discover new spots to be inspired and share their passion!
Who is going to be these first to visit all LQS Winners?

SEW Much Variety
Since this contest is powered by the community, every single vote counts and shows the impact local shops have.
Our top winners captured 7% of all votes.
It’s a long game, not a quick dash, and it was exciting to watch the leaderboard shuffle and change throughout the competition.
International voting was strong this year. Germany and Netherlands featured highly competitive races with their top stores consistently in the top 20 on the overall leaderboard.

SEW Nice to See
One way we track engagement is by looking at how many stores receive more than a single vote. Our aim is to see that percentage grow, as it reflects a more balanced voting process and signals wider recognition for the shops.
Even reading the stories from stores with just one vote is incredibly moving. We are so proud of every shop in the contest and inspired by the positive difference each one makes in their community.
