Hi Fashion Sewing & Quilt Shop in Grand Junction was our Regional Winner for Colorado!
We are excited to tell you more about this awesome shop and about the owners who have kept this family business going for over 50 years.
Please tell us your store’s story.
When Hi Fashion opened in 1965, it was a discount clothing store run by Jeff Vogel’s parents, Don and Arlene. Don Vogel loved buying clothing lines at the factories, which were still in the United States. Arlene loved to sew and couldn’t resist asking about samples of fabrics, which is why Hi Fashion began to carry sewing materials.
Jeff joined the business in 1984 and worked alongside his mom until she retired at age 81.
In 2006, Vogel branched out into the sewing machine business, and Hi Fashion became the local BERNINA dealer. Hi Fashion now carries several brands of sewing and quilting machines, as well as a huge selection of quilting fabric and thread.
Classes are a big part of the business at Hi Fashion, covering everything from basic sewing machine operation to advanced quilting techniques.
